Rupert Sanders said that his marriage-ending affair with Kristen Stewart was simply a “momentary lapse.”
“If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art,” Sanders told U.K.’s Metro, and said that in no way did it destroy his career.
“You never know what’s coming in life,” the “Ghost in the Shell” director said. “Around every corner there’s something unexpected, and that’s life.”
“You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can,” Sanders said. “Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn’t expect my life to be exciting if I didn’t.”
Sanders was married to Liberty Ross when photos of him and Stewart kissing emerged in 2012. Stewart was in a relationship with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson at the time.
